Market Watch – Chief Executive William Ayers and hedge fund Donald Smith & Co. are being investigated by the Securities and Exchange Commission for insider trading, Bloomberg News reported Thursday, citing two people close to the matter. The SEC is trying to determine if Ayers and the fund acted on insider information when they doubled their stake in Puget Energy Inc. before it was sold for $3.89 billion, Bloomberg reported.
