WEST PALM BEACH, FL (HedgeCo.Net) – Glocap Search LLC, Institutional Investor News and TASS Research have released the new 2004 hedge fund compensation report. The report examined some importantfactors that continue to impact the compensation of hedge fund professionals and traders. The 2004 report also added four new categories of hedge fund employees; Administrative & ExecutiveAssistants, CFOs & Controllers, Information Technology Professionals and Marketing Professionals.
Landon Spitalnik, Vice President of Glocap Search said, “While finding candidates with the right skills, backgrounds and personalities for each of our clients is paramount, I am continually amazed at how essential the right compensation package is,” adding, “Everyone knows what their friends in the industry are making and expects to keep up. A job at another fund often simply means a walk down the hall, so funds need to do all they can to keep their quality people compensated appropriately.”
Chris Gaudio, Executive Editor at Institutional Investor News said, “Hedge funds are dealing with more mainstream challenges today: How to attract more institutional business, how to build more infrastructure and address capacity issues, how to keep talented managers,” he further explained, “What we’re trying to do with this report is help fund executives figure out what to pay the portfolio managers, analysts, traders, marketers and IT professionals who make these funds hum.”
In his own remarks, Stephen Jupp, Director of Quantitative Research, TASS Research, said, “Hedge funds have evolved into a mainstream, $870 billion industry. We are delighted to participate in the Hedge Fund Compensation Report and to provide important data that tracks various aspects of industry growth and helps professionals assess compensation structures in relation to the strategic development of their organizations.”
