WEST PALM BEACH, FL (www.hedgeco.net) – Credit Suisse Asset Management, {CSAM} has launched a new hedge fund, the Credit Suisse Commodity Return Strategy Fund, which offers retail investors exposureto the commodities market via commodity swap agreements according to the announcement. Through commodities investing, investors may be able to achieve portfolio diversification and such strategy,will serve as a hedging strategy at the same time.
The new fund called the Credit Suisse Commodity Return Strategy Fund hopes to track the DA-AIG commodities index consisting of 19 commodities most popular to investors. Such strategy will enable the fund managers to invest in derivative instruments that are linked to short-maturity fixed income securities according to the release.
One of the Portfolio Managers of the Fund, Nelson Louie commented, “Our approach to this Fund is straightforward and unique: we seek to replicate the Dow Jones-AIG index through the aggregate purchase of swap agreements, and we manage the cash using a low risk approach that is focused on the preservation of principal and on maintaining liquidity.” Other managers joining Louie in the management of the new portfolio includes, Portfolio Managers Christian Lee, Waiman Leung, JoAnn Corkran and Suzanne Moran.
