HedgeCo.net – New York – Greg Brousseau and Mitchell Tanzman, former heads of the UBS Financial Services Alternative Investment Group, have launched Central Park Group, LLC. Strategic investors inthis new investment advisory firm include Bear Stearns Asset Management (through Bear Innovation, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary) and AIG Global Investment Group, a division of American InternationalGroup, Inc. (AIG).

Central Park Group intends to provide access to some of the world’s leading private equity, hedge fund, real estate and fund-of-funds sponsors. The firm plans to create a range of innovative “best-of-breed” product offerings to service institutional and affluent U.S. investors.

“Portfolio allocations made to alternatives by smaller institutions and qualified private client investors are at a nascent stage when compared to many leading endowments and institutional investors,” said Greg Brousseau.

Brousseau and Tanzman founded the UBS Alternative Investment Group in 1998. The Group had over $7.5 billion under management and control, offering one of the broadest alternative product platforms in the U.S.  Also joining the new firm as founding members are Ruth Goodstein as Chief Operating Officer, Michael Mascis as Chief Financial Officer, and Eric Zeigler as Head of Business Development.
