Apollo Funds Completed Their Acquisition of Nippon Sheet Glass

HedgeCo.Net — Apollo on September 29, 2026 announced that Apollo-managed funds completed their acquisition of Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd., a global architectural, automotive, and solar glass company, and launched a new management structure for the group, according to Apollo’s press release carried on GlobeNewswire. The announcement was made simultaneously in Japan on September 30, 2026 Japan Standard Time.

Apollo said the transaction with key financial institutions is intended to strengthen NSG’s financial foundation and accelerate investment in people and technology, drawing on Apollo’s prior experience in glass, automotive, and manufacturing. Munehiro Hosonuma remains Representative Director, President and CEO. Tetsuji Okamoto, Lead Partner for Asia Pacific Private Equity at Apollo, was quoted on partnering with NSG’s management for the next growth phase.

Apollo’s release cited approximately $1.05 trillion of assets under management as of June 30, 2026. Public materials around the close emphasize continuity of NSG’s brand and operating culture rather than a detailed recap of take-private economics in the closing note.

For Asia PE and industrials LPs, the hard marks are the September 29 Eastern / September 30 Japan close announcement, Apollo Funds as acquirer, Hosonuma’s continued leadership, and NSG’s architectural, automotive, and solar glass footprint. Do not invent takeout multiples or leverage levels beyond what Apollo and wire coverage published at close.
