Smaller Hedge Funds Set to Emerge in 2011

Wall Street News Cast – As capital inflows begin to peak in the larger hedge funds, increased flows from institutional investors to smaller and startup funds are expected to increase, according to third-party marketing and consulting firm Agecroft Partners.

Since the financial crisis of 2008, many hedge funds struggled to recover both performance and lost assets, as capital flowed to the larger brand name capital pools. Now, as things begin to recover going into 2011, many smaller hedge funds have experienced an up-tick in capital inflows for the first time in years as investors grabbed the opportunity to expand their asset allocations.
