New York – BTIG LLC, a broker dealer specializing in institutional trading and related brokerage services, today announced that it has made two senior hires in the U.S. as part of its ongoing global expansion. Brad Berk and Michael Stamberger have joined BTIG’s Institutional Equities Division as Managing Directors and Senior Sales Traders.
Both Berk and Stamberger previously worked at Pali Capital, where they were consistently top producers. Berk was an eight-year Pali veteran and was one of that firm’s most senior sales traders. Stamberger spent the past two years at Pali as a Senior Sales Trader and Managing Director.
“Brad and Michael are strategic additions to the BTIG team. Our eye is always on talent that would make BTIG a stronger and better resource for our clients,” said Richard Blank, Managing Director and Co-Head of Global Equities at BTIG. “Brad and Michael bring with them an exceptional level of professional experience and significant institutional relationships that will further advance BTIG’s goal of being the most trusted destination for institutional order flow.”
As part of its coordinated growth initiative, BTIG is creating a global trading franchise, which is built around a broad and experienced group of professionals who are leaders and experts in their respective field. Recently, BTIG hired additional senior professionals in its London, Hong Kong and Australian offices, opened an office in Singapore, launched a Fixed Income Group, and expanded its prime brokerage team in the U.S.
Berk was with SG Cowen prior to Pali, and before that he spent five years at CIBC OpCo. He is a graduate of Lehigh University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. Berk will be working out of BTIG’s Connecticut office.
Stamberger spent five years at Weeden & Co. as a Partner before he joined Pali. Prior to that, he worked at Jefferies for seven years. Stamberger will be based in BTIG’s New York office.
