WSJ – The U.K. froze the assets of Col. Moammar Gadhafi and his family a day after the United Nations imposed sanctions on Libya. On Sunday, Britain froze the assets of Col. Gadhafi, his daughter and four sons, including Seif al-Islam Gadhafi, who according to media reports owns a £10 million ($16 million) home in London’s affluent Hampstead neighborhood.
Last week the U.K. stopped an attempt by Libyans to take hundreds of millions of dollars in dinars out of Britain by making it difficult for them to get or land a plane to collect the money before sanctions came into effect, a person familiar with the matter said.
