In recognition of his professional accomplishments, commitment to society and potential global impact through inspiring leadership, the World Economic Forum has recognized Dylan Taylor, chief executive officer in the U.S. for Colliers International, as a Young Global Leader (YGL) for 2011.
The World Economic Forum is an independent international organization committed to improving the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas. Created in 2004 with an endowment from Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum, the Forum of Young Global Leaders is a unique community of more than 750 leaders from all regions of the world who share a commitment to shaping a better global future.
“Dylan Taylor’s selection as a Young Global Leader is a wonderful honor,” said Doug Frye, Colliers International’s global president and chief executive officer. “The success of Colliers International is due in no small part to his drive for personal and professional excellence. A true leader elevates those around him. Dylan Taylor leads by example.”
“Being recognized by The Forum of Young Global Leaders is a testament to Colliers International and the progress we have made as part of a global community,” Taylor said. “I feel extremely fortunate to be surrounded by professionals whose overriding mission is to accelerate the success of our clients, colleagues and friends around the world.”
Among thousands of nominees globally, all under age 40 at the time of their selection, new members are qualified and assessed according to rigorous selection criteria that create a diverse and representative body, while accepting only the very best leaders who have already demonstrated their commitment to serving society at large.
Taylor’s selection complements one of Colliers International’s core missions. As a leading global commercial real estate services organization, the enterprise is dedicated to serving its communities around the world with a spirit of enthusiasm, collaboration and personal and professional excellence.
“The challenges faced by the next generation of leaders are more daunting and intractable than ever and cannot be mastered with the current set of strategies, institutions, standards and attitudes,” Schwab said. “I am particularly proud of this year’s honorees, who make up the most diverse class of YGLs ever.”
Drawn from a pool of almost 5,000 candidates, the Young Global Leaders 2011 were chosen by a selection committee chaired by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
