The Cayman Islands Stock Exchange (“CSX”) in partnership with the Deutsche Börse announces the launch of its Xetra Trading Platform.
The cutting edge technology of the Xetra trading system, developed and operated by the Deutsche Börse Group in Frankfurt enables the CSX to undertake full range trading for equities debt and other securities, which includes insurance linked securities, listed on the CSX.
Valia Theodoraki, CEO of the CSX said “Migrating to the Xetra trading platform meets client demands and brings the CSX within reach of the global trading community adding transparency and market liquidity for CSX listed issuers. All Xetra members worldwide can now access the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange through a common internationally recognised technological base.”
The CSX can now offer companies that wish to list access to a network of approximately 400 global participants who are currently authorised to trade on one or more Xetra markets. International Xetra participants can be passported through a simple process as CSX broker members and will be able to reuse their existing Xetra connection to enter trades into the CSX Xetra platform.
Chairman of the CSX, Anthony Travers added “We are pleased to have taken this important and timely step in conjunction with the Deutsche Börse. The successful implementation of the Xetra trading system is an important milestone in the continuing development of the CSX, which now has a sophisticated trading system to match the sophistication of its listing rules.”
