BusinessWeek – Michel Barnier, the European Union’s financial services commissioner, said that a final agreement between the U.S. and EU on rules to regulate hedge funds is “possible soon.”
“The debate on hedge funds and private equity is in the last stretch” Barnier said following a speech in Washington. He is on a trip to the U.S. to reach a consensus on issues including regulation of banks and their capital requirements.
