But the dollar would likely lose value during a Trump presidency, says Bremmer. Given Trump’s unpredictable foreign policy and unprecedented remarks about US debt, other countries would likely search for alternatives to the dollar–hedging in other currencies and commodities, including the Chinese renminbi, the euro, and gold.
