TUSTIN, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–July 18, 2003–Two local chief executive officers will convey their experiences in raising venture capital financing at the Tech Coast Venture Network (TCVN) Forum onThursday, July 24, 2003 at the UCI University Club in Irvine, Calif. Azad M. Madni, Ph.D., chairman and CEO of Intelligent Systems Technology Inc. and Reza Zadno, president and CEO of Visiogen Inc.will speak to an audience of local entrepreneurs seeking to raise money for their ventures.
Entitled “Raising Money: CEO Success Stories,” the two Forum panelists represent middle market company CEOs who learned the different alternatives available in dealing with cash flow challenges and expansion funds. They will describe the steps that they took to seek out investors and how they met the venture capital groups that ultimately invested in their companies; the nature of the negotiations that took place in connection with the funding, including the issues and deal points that were important to them and those that were important to the investors; the due diligence process; the continuing relationship with their investors after the close of the funding; important lessons that they learned along the way. This is a unique chance to hear from individuals who have each raised several different rounds of financing from a variety of investors.
The TCVN program will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with an admission price of $45 for advanced registration or $55 at the door.
Dr. Azad Madni is founder and CEO of Intelligent Systems Technology, Santa Monica, Calif., a leading provider of business process management, E-learning and performance support solutions. He has previously served in a variety of leadership positions in high technology public companies. Dr. Madni has received multiple awards and commendations from the Department of Defense including special citations from the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) and DARPA for his pioneering research in concurrent engineering, process management, and agile manufacturing. He received his Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. in engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. He received his Executive MBA from the AEA/Stanford Executive Institute.
Reza Zadno is president and CEO of Visiogen, Irvine, which was founded in early 2001 to develop innovative solutions for treatment of age related vision loss. He was, most recently, at Three Arch Partners working as entrepreneur in residence. Prior to joining Three Arch, he was with PercuSurge where he co-founded the company in 1995 and served as vice president of R&D and CTO until August 2000. Zadno holds an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Metallurgy from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Mines de Paris and has filed more than 100 U.S. and international patent applications.
