WEST PALM BEACH, FL (www.hedgeco.net) – Hedge Fund analysts increasingly believe that hedge funds may have turned the corner following the past consecutive three months of declines. According to thedata provided by Cogent Dynamic Averages, hedge funds gained 1.6 percent in June, with a year-to-data average of 1.49 percent. 2005 has seen 3 months of declines and another 3 months of gains,leading analysts to believe that the hedge fund roller-coaster is over.
According to CogentHedge database reporting, the year-to-date of overall performance of hedge funds has been positive with all alternative investments monitored by CogentHedge. Most of the fifty hedge fund investment strategies tracked by CogentHedge are in the positive territory regarding their year-to-date averages. According to the hedge fund tracker, all but �eight strategies (convertible arb, credit spread arbitrage, global fixed income, aggressive FOFs and several trading strategies) are still down for the year to date. All other strategies according to CogentHedge are in positive territory.
According to CogentHedge, the average result range between a high of 1.65 percent positive achieved in June to -1.45 percent posted in April. �Emerging Market Equity strategies are leading the pack – up +8.150% for the year – while the Convertible Arbitrage strategy remains the single worst-performing category for the year: down -6.744% through June�, according to the released data.
