Hedge funds’ 10-year T-note net shorts hit record high

(Reuters) Share on Twitter Share on Facebook Share on Linkedin Speculators’ net bearish bets on US 5-year and 10-year Treasury note futures rose to record highs in the week ended July 24, according to Commodity Futures Trading Commission data released on Friday.

The net short positions in the 10-year Treasury note futures stood at 509,498 contracts on July 24 vs the previous week of 469,138. The 10-year yield currently trades at 2.96 percent, having clocked a six.
