July Produced Mixed Results For Big Name Fund Managers

New York (HedgeCo.net) – July wasn’t a bad month for the market as the indices tried to bounce back from the losses in June, but the results turned in by some of the biggest names in the hedge fund industry varied greatly.

A recent Reuters’ article highlighted the July performances. Among the winners during the month were William Ackman’s Pershing Square Capital Management which was up 6.6%, Robert Citrone’s Discovery Capital Management with a gain of 5.88%, and Ray Dalio’s Bridgewater Associates’ Pure Alpha fund which gained 2% during the month.

Among the tough performances were David Einhorn’s Greenlight Capital with a loss of 6.1%, Larry Robbins’ Glenview Capital with a loss of 2.1% and Barry Rosenstein’s Jana Partners which had a small loss (0.3%).
