Firecrawl Raised $75 Million Series B Led by Smash Capital

HedgeCo.Net — Firecrawl raised a $75 million Series B led by Smash Capital, with participation from Altos Ventures, Nexus Venture Partners, Y Combinator, Freestyle and Offline Ventures, according to the company’s September 22, 2026 blog post introducing Alexandria and corroborating Dealroom coverage. CEO Caleb Peffer said proceeds will help build a knowledge library for AI agents and expand paid access to contributor data.

Alexandria is described as combining official data providers, custom connectors and Firecrawl’s own indexes with the live web so agents can discover sources and retrieve content through a common API. Firecrawl said more than 1.5 million users build with its crawling and parsing tools, which originated from earlier work on documentation chat product Mendable.

The company said it already pays providers such as Wikimedia Enterprise and plans a self-service system for individuals and organizations to earn when agents use their knowledge.

For AI-infra venture allocators, the hard marks are the $75 million Smash Capital-led Series B, named syndicate (Altos, Nexus, YC, Freestyle, Offline), the Alexandria product launch, and the >1.5 million user claim. Do not invent post-money valuation or ARR figures beyond the company post.
