S&P Global Agreed to Acquire OpenZeppelin for Onchain Security:

HedgeCo.Net — S&P Global announced on September 17, 2026 an agreement to acquire OpenZeppelin, the smart-contract and onchain security company, according to a PR Newswire release and CoinDesk. Financial terms were not disclosed. Closing remains subject to customary conditions, and S&P said the transaction is not expected to be material to its near-term financial results.

OpenZeppelin will retain its name and operate as a separate business unit. CEO Demian Brener will continue to lead the business and report to Yann Le Pallec, President of S&P Global Ratings. Firm materials cite OpenZeppelin Contracts as underpinning more than $37 trillion in value transferred and more than 900 security engagements. Coverage frames the deal as expanding S&P’s digital-asset risk, security-benchmark, and data capabilities.

This is a signed agreement pending closing, not a completed acquisition. Mark the undisclosed terms, the separate-unit structure, the Brener-to-Le Pallec reporting line, the >$37 trillion Contracts figure, and the 900+ engagements as sourced. Do not invent a purchase price or center adjacent Kaiko fundraising as the lead fact.
