Aurelius to Acquire Nokia's Enterprise Campus Edge Business

HedgeCo.Net — Aurelius has agreed to acquire Nokia’s Enterprise Campus Edge business, which provides private wireless, industrial edge and AI software solutions, according to a Nokia announcement on GlobeNewswire and coverage by Reuters, CNA and Investegate. Terms were not disclosed. Closing is expected in the first half of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals and employee consultation processes.

The ECE unit serves roughly 900 customers with technology used to run private networks and edge compute on industrial and campus sites. Carve-outs of this type typically appeal to mid-market private equity firms that can give a non-core division denser commercial focus than it receives inside a large network equipment group.

For Nokia, the sale continues a pattern of pruning enterprise and software adjacency assets that sit outside the core mobile-infrastructure franchise. For Aurelius, ECE offers an installed base, recurring software and services relationships, and a product set tied to factory automation, logistics campuses and private 5G deployments.

The long closing window, into H1 2027, reflects both regulatory review and the consultation obligations that often accompany European carve-outs. Investors should treat the announced agreement as signed intent, not a completed separation, until those conditions clear.

From an allocator’s perspective, industrial edge and private wireless remain themes inside digital infrastructure and industrial technology portfolios. Whether Aurelius can accelerate growth after separation will depend on sales investment and partnerships that were harder to prioritize while ECE competed for attention inside Nokia’s broader enterprise mix.
