Seaya Raised €600 Million at First Close for Seaya Nova, a New European Growth Fund

HedgeCo.Net — Madrid-based investment firm Seaya has launched Seaya Nova, a new growth fund, after raising €600 million at first close in about six months. The fund is backed by the European Investment Fund under the European Tech Champions Initiative, the EIB Group program created to address the funding gap facing Europe’s growth-stage technology companies, alongside other institutional investors, corporates and family offices.

Seaya Nova will write checks of €20 million to €50 million per company, leading or co-leading Series B to D rounds in European technology businesses with proven models, durable economics and global ambitions. It is led by Seaya founder Beatriz González and Vinoth Jayakumar, who joins as managing partner of Seaya Nova after more than a decade of European growth investing that included backing Revolut, Wise, Thought Machine and ICEYE.

The launch gives Seaya three strategies: Seaya Ventures at the early stage, Seaya Andromeda in sustainability, and Seaya Nova in growth. The firm, founded in 2013, previously raised €300 million for the final close of Seaya Andromeda in 2024. It is also opening a London office to complement its Madrid headquarters.

Jayakumar framed the fund around the scaling problem in European tech. He said Europe now produces companies capable of leading their categories globally, and that AI is compressing the path from product-market fit to category leadership, so winning companies need larger amounts of capital earlier.

The raise adds to a run of growth-stage fundraising in Europe this year. EU-Startups noted closes and raises by Kembara, Molten Ventures, Mouro Capital, 2150 and SlateVC, among others, totaling about €2.31 billion including Seaya Nova. The repeated presence of the EIF as an anchor shows how much public capital is underwriting Europe’s effort to keep later-stage rounds from depending on U.S. investors.
