New York (HedgeCo.net) – SS&C GlobeOp released its Hedge Fund Performance Index results for October yesterday and they showed that the index gained 0.64% for the month. While it is encouraging to see the index gain ground again after a couple of months of losses, the small gain didn’t compare favorably to the 8.3% the S&P gained during the month.
For the year, the SS&C GlobeOp Hedge Fund Performance Index is up 5.18% which shines a positive light on the industry when compared to the 1.0% gain the S&P experienced on a YTD basis through the end of October.
SS&C, the service provider for the global financial services industry, also released the results of their Capital Movement Index and it showed an advance of 0.91% for its November measurement. The October reading showed a drop of 1.27% and it shows a significant increase over last November’s reading of 0.67%. So far in 2015, the Capital Movement Index has recorded positive readings in seven of 11 months.
